Pharmacy First
The new Pharmacy First Service will enable your local community pharmacists to complete episodes of care for patients.
This, alongside expansions to the pharmacy blood pressure checking and contraception services.

When to see a pharmacist
Your GP practice can now refer you to your pharmacy of choice to be assessed, for the following 7 clinical conditions:
- Sinusitis (for patients aged 12 years and over only)
- Sore throat (aged 5+)
- Earache (aged 1 year-17)
- Infected insect bite (aged 1 year+)
- Impetigo (aged 18 years+)
- Shingles (aged 18 years+)
- Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (women aged 16 to 64)
Your GP practice OR pharmacy will determine if you meet the criteria to be seen within the pharmacy first service.
This option is another way for you to be seen much sooner and where most convenient for you!
