Our patients
Our highly diverse population totals over 320,000 people across 42 Hillingdon practices, reflecting a rich mix of cultures, backgrounds, and age groups.
People in our area have a wide range of health problems, including high blood pressure, obesity, depression or anxiety, and breathing problems like COPD and asthma. Some areas of the borough face more challenges than others, which can affect people’s health.
Given our proximity to Heathrow, we serve a significant number of asylum seekers and refugees. We work with local charities to help them stay healthy and take part in research if they want to.
Our hub is located in the heart of Hillingdon borough with easy transport links and a dedicated car park ensuring accessibility for our population.
Diversity and inclusion
Research is strongest when it represents everyone in our community.
Everyone deserves high quality health care. By championing research for all, we can ensure results and findings can benefit everyone regardless of their age, gender, background, culture or health experience. This approach ensures we can make healthcare better for our current and future generations whilst reducing health inequalities.
Our team work tirelessly to make it easier for everyone to take part in our studies. This can include using clear language, offering different ways to join in, and listening to what matters most to patients. We want every person to feel valued, respected, and comfortable when taking part in research. By focusing on diversity and inclusion, we give more people a voice and help create better healthcare for everyone.
