We are a training practice, hosting GP Registrars & undergraduate medical students, and we maintain an active
Patient Participation Group (PPG). Since relocating to bespoke premises at the Mount Vernon Hospital site in 2007,

JOB PURPOSE
You will lead the development and delivery of high-quality business intelligence, digital transformation, and service improvement
initiatives across the practice. The role ensures optimal use of clinical systems, robust data quality, compliance with statutory requirements, and delivery of performance targets linked to income streams (QOF,Enhanced Services, PCN contracts). You will also drive innovation in patient access, operational efficiency, and staff capability, ensuring that the practice remains at the
forefront of primary care delivery.
KEY RESULT AREAS
Strategic & Business Intelligence
- Lead the development and implementation of a practice-wide Business Intelligence strategy
- Monitor performance against contractual requirements (QOF, IIF, ES/DES) and identify opportunities to
- maximise income
- Provide bespoke searches, reports and monthly performance dashboards to partners and PCN leadership
- Deliver actionable insights through data analysis to support service transformation
- Deliverables: Monthly KPI dashboard delivered within 5 working days of month-end; Quarterly income optimisation report; Annual BI plan agreed
Data Quality & Compliance
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness coding quality across all clinical systems
- Lead on compliance with CQC, UK GDPR, DSPT & NHS data governance requirements
- Deliverables: Maintain 98% coding accuracy; DSPT compliance by deadline; Zero critical CQC findings
- Optimize systems to prevent revenue leakage
Digital Transformation & Systems Management
- Manage implementation, optimisation & integration of clinical/operational systems (e.g. EMIS, Anima, Blinx, Heidi)
- Work with suppliers regarding clinical software to resolve issues & implement upgrades
- Ensure interoperability between systems to improve workflow efficiency
- Deliverables: System updates within 10 working days; 85% user satisfaction
Training & Staff Development
- Develop and deliver a training programme for all staff on digital tools, coding, and data quality as well as mandatory training
- Act as system super-user and primary troubleshooting contact
- Maintain training logs for compliance purposes
- Deliverables: 100% staff trained within 4 weeks; Annual refresher training delivered
- Support staff through change
Patient Engagement & Service Improvement
- Help improve patient access pathways & digital engagement tools
- Co-ordinate with PPG for patient engagement
- Support patient recall, monitoring & safety
- Analyse patient feedback to identify areas for improvement
- Oversee communications and educational materials for patients, including website and social media
Deliverables
- Reduce avoidable patient contacts
- by 10% in 12 months
- Quarterly patient feedback summary
Liaison & Communication
- Maintain open, effective communication with:
- All internal staff teams
- External bodies such as the PCN, Confederation, Neighbourhood and ICB
- Motivating teams to achieve KPIs

Person Specification
Essential
- Degree or equivalent experience
- Senior management experience in primary care
- Advanced use of EMIS
- Delivery of QOF/IIF performance
- Advanced data analysis;
- Understanding of NHS primary care contracts
- Change management
- Flu & vaccination campaign leadership
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Leadership, strategic thinking
- Ability to influence at all levels

Desirable
- Postgraduate qualification in health informatics or service improvement
- NHS Band 7-8a or equivalent role
