What is Health, Lifestyle and Action?
The Health, Lifestyle and Action programme is a 12-week weight loss course which focuses on diet & exercise to aid weight loss, but also takes a holistic approach to health and lifestyle changes.

Who is this for?
Patients registered with a Hillingdon GP practice can be referred to the programme. You must have a BMI over 30 or (or 27.5 + co-morbidities), be able to undertake light exercise and be willing to commit to a 12-week course.
What's Involved?
The course runs for a total of 12 weeks with a ‘break’ between 8 and 12. On week 12 you will have a final weigh-in and talk about how you will keep up the good work.
Throughout your journey during the 12 weeks, you will keep track of your exercise completed, eating habits and document how you are feeling, these will be reviewed by the facilitator and feedback will be provided.
There are weekly group discussions about progress and any difficulties you may have faced.

Most of our sessions take place by video using Zoom.

How long do I need to wait before I get onto a course?
You should be invited to book a course within 4 weeks of your referral date.
How long is each session for?
Each session should last for approximately 1 hour.

No, the sessions are information based and will require no physical activity.
Do I have to attend every session?
Yes, you must commit to all 8 sessions led by the facilitator and during the break you must commit to completing exercise and food tasks.
